 moonlight [post-spell]
« Thread Started on Oct 31, 2007, 4:48pm »

Apparently contented with the way the night was going, Mortimer had abandoned the group he had been with in the main hall in favour of spending some time outside. The moon wasn't quite full; it didn't matter to him. Moonlight in general was something that reminded him of Artemis, and more specifically of nights the two had shared together.

At least the resident werewolves wouldn't be complaining too much. Complaints were something Mortimer considered distasteful, and did not have time for. Ironically, he would find himself complaining if he did not find who he was looking for soon enough. Artemis was present at the night's festivites; he knew it, he could sense it, but couldn't find the younger vampire. Wherever he was, Mortimer either hadn't been there yet, or the two of them were managing to accidentally avoid each other to the point where it had become quite frustrating.

Leaning against the castle wall, Mortimer pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and waited for Artemis to arrive. If they were going to find each other, at least one of them would have to stay still, or it would take all night.

Artemis had managed to finally brush off Raleigh's attentions, thanks to the older fey being easily distracted by Zevi and several students. He was about to attempt to locate Mortimer when it hit him. He glanced around the room, looking rather confused. He recognized the place as Hogwarts' Great Hall, since he had been there before, but he couldn't remember how the hell he had gotten there. In fact, most of his recent memories were a bit hazy, but there was a century worth that were perfectly clear. The most recent clear memory was of being in Amsterdam, so he was rightfully perplexed as to how he had ended up inside a wizarding school in Scotland.

As if the situation wasn't odd enough, the room appeared to be filled with various creatures and people who looked like they did not belong in Hogwarts either. Some of them looked just as confused as Artemis about the whole ordeal. Shaking his head at the absurdity of the situation, he decided to return to his previous task of finding Mortimer. Maybe his sire would have some idea of what was going on.

It didn't take long to locate him outside the hall. Artemis draped an arm around Mortimer's hips and easily extracted a cigarette from the other's pocket, pressing the tip of it against Mortimer's already lit one. He took a drag, released the smoke, and held the cigarette off to the side as he pressed his lips against Mortimer's neck. "Any idea what's going on here?" he quietly asked, lips brushing against his ear.

"I have absolutely no idea. Last thing I remember clearly I'd gone out to meet someone and then suddenly I end up standing in the middle of a hall I haven't been in for at least a century and swore if I ever saw the inside of again it'd be too soon. So no, I'm as clueless as the rest of the current inhabitants of this castle."

It did not seem to occur to Mortimer that there were bound to be people who knew what was going on, and he instead stood for several minutes taking long, deep drags from his cigarette and looking around at the surrounding area with intense distaste. While he hadn't had a bad school experience, it wasn't a place he'd been desperate to revisit any time soon, if only because he found the temperature disagreeable having been in warmer places. "Have you heard anything about this whole affair? There're some incredibly strange-looking creatures in the Great Hall along with some rather out of place or anachronistic-looking people. There has to be a reason for this, and I want to know it."

Artemis rested his cheek on Mortimer's shoulder at an angle where he could look at the older one's face as he spoke. A slight pout graced his features, due to being perplexed about their current situation rather than disappointment. "No, but I was more focused on finding you than stopping to chat. But it looks like the Great Hall is decorated for a ball or something of that sort. Like the Yule Ball they had when I came here, but not a Yule ball this time, obviously."

The shorter of the two pulled himself far enough away from Mortimer that he could take another drag of his cigarette without worrying about dropping ash on him or exhaling smoke in his face or something of that sort. The cigarette was barely half-smoked when Artemis dropped it and ground it out under the heel of his boot. He hadn't sought out Mortimer because he wanted a smoke, or even just because he was terribly confused by their whole situation. He had other things on his mind, and as far as he was concerned, trying to discern what was going on at Hogwarts could wait until later.

Now that both hands were free, Artemis placed them on either side of Mortimer's waist and pressed their hips and chests together. His lips returned to the pale expanse of neck before him, parting enough for the tip of his tongue to run over the place where his pulse would have been if he was still human. "I'm sure that whatever is going on will make itself obvious in due time," he assured Mortimer. "Until then, I'm hungry," the blonde purred. Coming from Artemis, that statement was practically synonymous with 'I'm horny', which explained why he was very close to grinding against Mortimer.

"I suppose it'll all sort itself out soon enough. And if it doesn't, my curiosity will wane, I'm sure."
Mortimer finished his cigarette before dropping it to the ground and grinding it vindictively into the dirt with the heel of his shoe. The colder temperature of Scotland had fouled his mood considerably, and if there were any inanimate objects nearby they were going to be bearing the brunt of this bad temper. "I remember the balls here. It's been a long time, but this must be one of the Samhain celebrations; it is not yet December, but Hogwarts has always enjoyed somewhat reasonless celebrations."

Mortimer placed one hand on Artemis' shoulder, pressing his nails into the soft tissue surrounding the bone. "Later, Artemis." he said, his voice low and to a lot of others somewhat threatening, but in this case probably more seductive than anything else. Considering Artemis hadn't been frightened of him at any point of their relationship unless it was conducive to the atmosphere of sex, trying to be threatening was quite useless. "When we find somewhere private. There was a spot by the lake, that unless the staff have planted more foliage in the area, will be most suitable."

Artemis' arms slid further around Mortimer's waist so they could clasp loosely behind his back. He gave the older one a small pout. Artemis never had handled being denied something very well, even if he had agreed to do it later. "Can we at least find someone to feed on? I'm sure that there is at least one attractive, reasonably sane person in there." Feeding was a very intimate act for Artemis- it was for most vampires, for that matter- so he was as picky regarding who he would feed on as he would be over who he'd be willing to sleep with.

Lips finding Mortimer's neck once more, he lightly nipped at it, careful not to draw blood. Not yet, anyway. It was a sort of warning that if Mortimer kept him from feeding for too long, he might find it difficult to resist biting him. One of his hands moved up to twirl a strand of the other's hair around his finger. The other slipped down from the small of Mortimer's back to rest on the curve of his rear.

"I don't know about you, but I think we can do better than behind some tree by the lake," he snorted. Artemis was more comfortable with Scotland's weather than Mortimer was, considering that the weather at Durmstrang was much worse. But he still preferred being inside where it was warm to outside where it could start raining.

"I'm sure we can, Artemis. I must admit I have been hungry for a while now."
Long, neatly kept nails dug into the soft flesh of Artemis' back harder than before. "But if we do, you had better promise that nothing comes of it. You know what'll happen if something does."
Mortimer trailed one finger down Artemis' neck, and smiled. "You're impatient, aren't you? I suppose we really will have to find someone to feed on soon."

Mortimer's eyes darkened at Artemis' dismissal of his suggested 'private place'. "Well, if you know of anywhere better, having only been here once, do enlighten me."

A small noise was omitted by Artemis as Mortimer's nails dug into his back. He lightly nuzzled the spot he had nipped at in an apologetic manner. His lips brushed against the other's neck, as if to make up for acting out of place with the older vampire. Artemis still hated being ordered around by his sire, but he would at least act respectfully submissive about things like taking blood and sex. Well, with Mortimer anyway. Although Diamond was technically his sire as well, Artemis wasn't afraid to show his dominant side around him.

When the other's finger ran down his neck, Artemis arched it to the side, reflexively offering the pale expanse of flesh to Mortimer. It was habit to give him better access to it upon the slightest attention to that part of his body, whether he was offering it for blood or just necking. He didn't even stop to consider that if Mortimer did decide to bite him, it would just make Artemis' need to feed all the more urgent. "Yes," he breathed, affirming that he wasn't very patient when it came to feeding and sex.

Artemis' hand moved back up to the waist of Mortimer's pants, fingertips teasingly running over the line where fabric met flesh. "So just blood, no three-way?" he responded, pouting slightly. Mortimer probably couldn't see the expression, but it was evident in his voice.

He pulled back enough that he could meet the other's blue eyes. "I was here for a whole year, Mortimer-love," the shorter one purred. "A whole year without my at-the-time boyfriend. We weren't that dedicated to each other, so do you really think that I was abstinent the whole time? The more attractive sixth and seventh year students were more than happy to show me around the castle." He doubted that Mortimer would miss what he was implying when he said that they "showed him around". "We could try the Room of Requirement, or the Prefects' Bathroom if we get the password out of someone. Or maybe they've even hired some considerably more attractive professors than the ones at Durmstang who would be happy to show us their private quarters."

"I suppose that's true."
Mortimer ran a finger up and down Artemis' neck, apparently not quite aware of the action. "I wouldn't expect any less of you. Even if you didn't mean that the students had propositioned you in plenty of places around the castle, I wouldn't put it past you to explore anyway."
Mortimer ran his tongue over suddenly dry lips, and leant forward a little so they touched Artemis' exposed skin. "I must admit, it has always been a bit of a fantasy of mine, having sex in a school. I, unlike you, kept myself to myself while in education. My relationships didn't come until I went out to work."

Pulling back once more, Mortimer kept one hand on Artemis' face. "I'm sure someone could be...persuaded, to give us the password to the Prefects' Bathroom, or to show us where their quarters are."
The intonation on the word 'persuaded' made it quite clear just what kind of persuasion Mortimer meant. This meant finding an attractive student, or an attractive professor, and allowing a three-way, for once. Mortimer resented being termed a jealous man, but unfortunately was not able to prove himself otherwise.

A hand ran through the hair on the back of Mortimer's head, holding him close and encouraging him to continue his oral attentions to Artemis' neck. "I can honestly tell you that the majority of my sexual encounters before I met you were decidedly unremarkable. After a couple nights with you I had almost forgotten about most of them." Knowing Mortimer's tendency toward possessiveness, he figured it was a good idea to stroke the older one's ego after mentioning sex with other people.

Artemis gave a faint laugh. "That's a bit of an odd thing to aspire to considering that you graduated over a century ago, but I'm not about to deny indulging you." The younger one had insisted upon having sex in stranger places in the past, after all. "Especially considering that for a minute or so there I was afraid that I was going to have to tie you down to a bed and ride you. Again." Artemis had been known to get frustrated when Mortimer insisted that something had a priority over sex at the time, and if his sire wasn't going to cooperate then he decided that the best way to get what he wanted was to take away the other's options. It was rather difficult for him to ignore Artemis' desires when he was bound to a bed with magically reinforced bindings. He expected to be punished for that sort of thing, but that didn't discourage him much.

Glad that Mortimer had agreed, Artemis pulled away from him so that he could begin returning to the entrance to the Great Hall. He took the taller one by the hand as he did so. "I'll even let you choose who..." he offered.
