These are the rules of this forum. You MUST read ALL of them. If you are caught breaking one, you will receive a warning. Continued infractions may result in banning. If for some reason it is deemed necessary to change or add to the rules, there will be an announcement.

C H A R A C T E R S

[x] You must post a character sheet/profile in the appropriate board and have it approved by an administrator before posting in the RP.

[x] Your first character must have at least 50 posts before you apply for a second one.

[x] Original characters are not allowed to be the child, sibling, cousin, love-interest, or spouse of canon characters. This is to prevent Mary-Sues, confusion, and to keep things fair.

Original characters can be romantically involved with canon characters if the canon character is played by another person and they get together in the RP.

[x] All special abilities, meaning any powers that are not commonly possessed by the average witch or wizard, must be approved by an Admin before you RP them.

[x] No original characters with the last name "Black", even if they are not related to the canon Black family. I know this may seem like an odd request, but I've seen it get out of hand. I trust that you can be more original than that.

[x] Original characters can not join as metamorphamagi, vampires, werewolves, fey, or have the ability to communicate with animals. This is another thing that has to be closely watched or else it can get out of hand. If you have your heart set on having your character be one of these, PM Artemis about it.*

[x] Original characters may only be animagi if they are over the age of 50.*

[x] All Order members must be 17 or older, and Death Eaters must either be of age or explain how they're able to perform magic without the Trace alerting the Ministry.

P O S T I N G

[x] This is a LITERATE forum. Everyone makes minor mistakes when it comes to spelling and grammar at times, and it is understandable if English is not your first language, but please at least attempt to be as literate as possible. That means NO CHATSPEAK.

[x] Posts in the RP should be made in third person past tense. That means you would write "he ran up the stairs" as opposed to "I run up the stairs".

[x] No godmodding (controlling the actions of characters that are not yours). Your posts should speak for the actions of your character and yours alone. The exception to this is if you have more than one character and you are posting the interaction of your characters under one of the character's accounts (rather than switching back and forth between accounts).

[x] Do not carry on Out of Character (OOC) conversations in RP areas. If you feel it is absolutely necessary to make an OOC comment, denote it with ((this)).

[x] Do not post describing the actions of a canon character unless you play that character. If you wish to have your character interact with a canon character that is not played by anyone on the RP then PM an Admin and they can RP the canon character.

[x] To prove to me that you've read these rules, please place this smiley at the end of your character's profile. 8-)

[x] If you wish to only have certain characters RPing in a particular thread, put (Private) in the title. Only characters who have been given permission by the thread starter can post in the thread. If you have not been invited and wish to join, you must ask the thread starter, whether through PM or other means. If someone posts in your private thread who you did not invite, tell an admin or moderator.
If you start a thread and you want to welcome anyone to join, you can put (Open) in the title.

G E N E R A L

[x] Signature images cannot be wider than 500 pixels. There isn't a set limit for hight, but under 300 pixels is advised.

[x] Please change your display name to your character's first and last name. You can do this in your profile.

[x] Swearing is allowed, as long as it is not directed at another person OOC. Therefore, your character is allowed to call another character a bitch, but you are not allowed to call another person on this forum a bitch in OOC comments.

[x] Please try to keep things PG-13 in the RP. If a thread has mature content, it will be moved to the Restricted Section as long as it is only writing without accompanying images.

*We sometimes make exceptions to this rule, but don't even ask unless you already have a character with at least 100 posts and have proven to us that you are a good RPer and active.
